Installing

From Musik

  1. Double click the install file, musikCubeSetup.exe
  2. If you have Windows XP Service Pack 2 then a dialog may pop up asking you if you would like to run this file. Click "Run".
  3. If you have already installed musikCube a dialog will show up telling you that an old version of musikCube is installed and you need to uninstall it before installing the latest version. Just click "OK" unless you want to keep your old version.
  4. Welcome This screen tells the users what version of musikCube they are installing and that they should close all other programs before installing. Click "Next".
  5. License Agreement Now you are going to have to accept the license agreement, which lets the user know musikCube is protected under a BSD License Agreement and notifying you if you redistribute this program it MUST include the copyright information above. If you agree to the terms then click the circle "I accept the agreement" then click "Next". Otherwise exit the install immediately.
  6. Choose Install Location The next page is selecting the destination for musikCube to be installed to. The default installation path is the most common area for program installs. However, if you wish to change the destination click "Browse". Otherwise click "Next" to continue the installation.
  7. Set up Shortcuts Now it is time to choose whether or not you want a Desktop icon, whether or not you want musikCube to appear in the Start Menu Programs Folder, and a Quick Launch icon. The Quick Launch icons are those little icons next to the "Start" button.
  8. Choose Start Menu Folder This page will only show up if you chose to add musikCube to your Start Menu Programs Folder and will ask you if you what to name the Start Menu Programs Folder for musikCube. Click "Next."
  9. Installing... Now musikCube will install. If you experience any problems such as msvcr71.dll is in use or something similar restart your computer and do not open any programs other than the musikCube install and the install should run fine. After the install completes the installer will list the operations it performed. Click "Next."
  10. Complete Now the installation is complete. Click "Finish" and enjoy the freedom of musikCube.
