Importing Music

From Musik

The first thing you are probably going to want to do is get your music into the musikCube database.

  1. First open musikCube.
  2. Now depending on how you want your music imported you can use any of the following options:
  • The first option is Synchronization. Synchronization basically checks the folders you tell it to each time musikCube starts up (if you set "Automatically synchronize directories on startup" in the Preferences under Interface -> General) to check for new, changed, or deleted songs. To set up a synchronization click File then Settings then Synchronized Paths from there choose add to add a new location to synchronize or remove if you want to remove a location. Then go to File then Music Library then Synchronize if you want to synchronize your music library manually.
  • If your music is in one general location: click File then Music Library then Add Directory now navigate to the folder where your music is located and click OK once you select the folder. Now musikCube will import your music. Give it a few seconds. NOTE: this is not the same as synchronization. This will add all those files one time and trying to synchronize them will do nothing unless you set up a synchronization path.
  • If you want to import certain files one or a few at a time: click File then Music Library then Add Files now navigate to the location of your music and once you select the files click Open. Now musikCube will import your music. This will take a couple of seconds.
  • You can also drag and drop files onto musikCube. Then musikCube will ask you where you want to put this file and you can even have musikCube remember your decision or you can set the default action in Preferences (Interface -> Workflow).
