Because my copy of the source is starting to change a bit from the official code, I decided to put it in an SNV repository of my own, mostly for backup reasons, but also so those of you who do have some changes (like Vigylant and jmillikin recently) can put them into the code yourselves = ). Just email me for a username and password for commits. Anonymous checkout is allowed.

So how exactly can one go about downloading a compiled version with the new changes? Namely, if the patch to fix the Now Playing list bug actually works, I'd definitely like to get a new version with that patch included. I'd finally be able to go back to the official release version. (Still using RC3 because of that damned bug.)

I am posting some mC stuff on my small mC page, including Jooles' versions.
His latest versions of musikCube.exe and musikCore_u.dll (which include the presumable Now Playing fix and Vigylant's Times Played patch) is not there yet, because it seems buggy at the moment.

Well, it'd be great to know if/when it goes up. Please let us know. ![]()

The compiled version I send to doctriv at the moment as he has some hosting space. I'm just doing some touchups, then a new build should be ready. I'm having a bit of trouble with the SVN too... keeps failing when I try and import the source code.

The SVN is done, and the now playing fix has been tested and works, but there are a couple of other things I wanna sort before I put the new build up

Nice to see the development is going on ![]()
Thx Jooles !

It's veeeeeeeeery slow, but yeah. I do what I can = )

Latest builds can now be downloaded from my sig. I'll date/time them so you know if it's been updated.
Offline
Dunno if it's just mine, but the timesplayed aren't updating at all :S

Yeah, I know about that one. It was working for a bit and has now stopped completely for some reason so I'm still working on that. It's probably gonna have bugs this version most of the time. It's the latest build rather than the latest fixed and working build
. Sorry if it's a pain though.

I've updated my small mC page due to Jooles' progresses.
I'll host the IMO most stable/bugfree/functional build of the Unofficial Bugfix 1.01 there (contains at the moment only Smart Previous + Hotkey fix).
Offline
That's probably a good plan. I'll send you builds that I consider stable then so you can check them.
Still not as small as my page though ![]()
Ah, it brings back memories... Now, where did I keep that html code to make the writing glow? ![]()
(Awww... glowing only works in IE
)

I'll keep testing the builds. I have the 1.01 patch in my mC folder just in case though ![]()

Do you want bug reports for the CVS in this thread?

Besides the play count not updating I found that nothing happens when making a choice in the "Selection Boxes" to either the Artists or Albums in the library.

I have the same issues. I updated and opened the mC, double-clicked an artist (nothing happened), c;icked an album (nothing), clicked a song, (still nothing).
Re-installed 1-0

Jooles knows about these two bugs, but I guess it is not so easy to combine code from different people.
I am using the "Unofficial Bugfix 1.01 RC1" at the moment.

Now that there is some work being done on a fresh cvs... Should some kind of (major) announcement be made on the musikcube.com pages to encourage assistance in development. Quite a few people over the past couple of years have mentioned they would help in production, however the ball never really got a start at rolling until now. Like everyone else on this forum, i yearn to see new life in musikcube ![]()
Andrew.

Well, the actual development ist not "official", so a big announcement could be irritating.
I don't know why all the people who offered their help did not really jump in - it seems that someone was missing who just start to do something. So props to Jooles and the other guys who offered code.

No worries guys = ). I'm happy to do it and besides, it's helping me improve my coding.
wrt bugs, put them here for now, but hopefully soon I'll have a proper bugtracker installed on my site.
Also, I should probably say this too - it probably is a good idea to just copy your musikcube install directory, rename the copied directory (to something like mC 1.01 unofficial or whatever) and replace the musikcube.exe and musikcube_u.dll that are in the copy. That way you can have both the stable and release versions on your computer at once - one for testing and one that works =P.

Right - New build is up. Now if it crashes, it'll drop a musikcube.dmp file in its directory. Please PLEASE send me this file with a description of the crash and the date/time of the build you were using if it ever does crash. Otherwise I've got no chance of catching some of these bugs.
On my computer at least, the selection boxes at the top work, as does the now playing thing at startup (it remembers my now playing lists).
And I have a proper bugtracker for my unofficial version. Head over to jooles.boldlygoingnowhere.org/mantis if you've got any. Again, please put the date/time of the build.
Now I've got to get back to fixing this times played thing...

Could you manage it to implement an option to set the value for times played +1 (something like: standard (at start), 50% of track or 80%,at the end) ?
This would be awesome! And it would avoid that many users will complain, because theres someting for everybody.
