When playing a mpc file, there is a noise (a crackling) in the background.

Does is crackly always? What means "not loud enough" - do you just need to pump up the volume?
Does is happen even when the Equalizer is turned off?

no, not with more volume.
It crackles nearly the whole time. But I have some .mpc songs, which are calm and whith not much bass. There it's not crackling this much.
But it doesn't crackle with another MediaPlayer.
I have always turned off the Equalizer.

This will be looked into... I don't have any MPC files at hand though, so if someone could email me one where this problem is audible that would be appreciated.

Did you also have MP3s where you here the crackling?

Only with mpc. I do not have the equalizer enabled.
I also have a very high quality 16 channel firewire soundcard, so I am sure that's not it.
The mpc is just broken, which, by the way, is pretty damn significant to me.

I can both confirm your findings and encourage your personal assessment as to this issue's importance - it's the same here for me.
