but about jcarrascal's latest attempt [believe he posted last sometime in feb from the top of my head]- do you have a clue as to if he's still at it?
No clue... Try ask/contact him yourself. He made a fix to the tagging issue (!), but it was never compiled AFAIK.

tagging issues- the one with the genre as numbers you mean?
anyway, i've send him a mail hoping he'll let us know what he's up to.
in the mean time, i'm more and more wondering if anybody [/i] should even bother improving mc1 since i don't know how soon mc2 will be amongst us.. which is looking good though!
ps; don't think i'd be much help on mc2 till bugfixing time, since someone with no C experience is more likely to cause bloat and bugs due to inefficient coding- implementing things from the perspective of 'i finally figured out how to have x do y' instead of 'i can have x do y in 15 different ways, but which would be the best option [ie; meet the criteria, and not more than that]'
either way, i'll be around, enjoying the free candy

mC2 is under development with more coders than mC1 ever had, so it looks very promising. Under these impressions, there is not much need to bother with a soon outdated program - although if someone can provide some fixes to mC1, it would be welcome.

As you see in the forum, there are some threads marked with [mC2]. The latest version is the dev milestone 3 (still veeery early).
