Feature suggest: Keyboard shortcuts (configurable OR fixed - whichever is easier) for quick operation of MC.
Examples:
s - bring focus to Search box (yeah, I know ctrl+F, but skipping ctrl is even easier
)
+/- - increase/decrease volume
a - search for same artist
t - search for same title
l - search for same album
v - skip to next song
c - skip to previous song
r - play random song
etc.. I noticed that hardly any key is mapped to an action. That's a waste of key-resources! ![]()

I'd like to have a shortcut to enque a song to now playing.

I don't know how itīs for you but i don't like the collected feature.
i don't know why buggy or something... can there be a on/off function
on the next release?!

I'm curious as to whether or not any work has been done on fixing any of the bugs that popped up in musikCube 1.0? I've recently gone back to RC3, since it seems to be less buggy in general (namely, it doesn't have the annoying bug of the now playing list being replaced with the entire library after any library changes). Mind you, I greatly appreciate all the work that has been done on this amazing player. I just think it's odd to release a 1.0 version, and then have no news on any bug fixes or further developments. DocTriv has been awesome in compiling this list of bugs and feature requests. It would be awesome to start knocking some of these things off the list.
musikCube really is the greatest player in existence, and I'd love to see it get even better.

As far as I understand Casey/avatar3d, there will be a bugfix release, he just had no time to do it last year.
I hope it will be released soon, because there are some naughty bugs.
And then "we" will hopefully find programmers who really want to help in make mC 2.0...

An on/off switch to disable multimedia keyboard keys would be nice. My keys already do something else and mC takes control

I would like the feature that when you click once on the statusbar icon, the song pauses. And a doubleclick to open the window.

Hi,
Ive had a quick look around, sorry if i missed it.
There seems to be a bug with tag loading and display of audio file bitrate and duration. I have various mp3 and ogg files that load with
Bitrate: 0
Duration: 0:00
Double clicking the files to play them will display the relevant duration/bitrate accordingly.
Modifying or updating the tags seems to have no effect.

I made a dynamic playlist for that and have two MP3s where I have that wrong information.
But I can't see what this songs have in common. Have yoo more info about your files, iZombie?
PS: "Great", while doing the mentioned playlist I encountered bug II.14.
Edit: Discussion about it please here.

Suggestion: It would be nice if double clicking on a playlist name would replace the 'Now Playing' list with the selected playlist or would add the playlist content to the 'Now Playing' list (these two variant would be optional to select, and the whole feature could be turn ON / OFF in the 'Preferences').
I don't know if this feature is hard to implement or so, but it would be helpful I think.

Drag&drop the playlist tab onto Now Playing tab and it's content will be added to Now Playing.

Yeah, I know that much, but if I'm just drag&drop a playlist onto the 'Now Playing' tab it won't replace the actual 'Now Playing' playlist, it will only add the 'dropped' playlist content to the end of the actual 'Now Playing' playlist.
And I know that if I select some songs or a whole playlist with CRTL+A and then I'm right click on it I can replace the 'Now Playing' playlist, but this is too complicated... not hard, just... it could be easy : )

Ah, okay. A possibilty would be to add the "Playback" context menu the the (Dynamic) Playlist tabs' context menu. But that are dreams of the future - it is unsure if mC will be further developed (a 1.01 bugfix release, pleeease)...

This means, that after a bugfix it will be further developed, or it won't be developed for good? O.o Don't break my heart pls ^^
Anyway, I'm using the last CVS build for now, and I'm in waiting and longing for a relatively bug free version.

I think Casey will do a small bugfix release for 1.0 Final (I hope soon, or should I donate some bucks?
). But after that it seems to be over!
There were some people who offered their help (see Casey's cry for help here), but at the moment there are only one programer (Casey), one webmaster (plus a little coding, I think) (Rajiv) and only one Plugin-maker left (ObsidianX) plus some translators and nerds who are always on this board or in IRC
.
I guess we should contact the people who offered their help directly; if I find some time I could make a sketch for a letter.

: / bummer! I wish I could help in some code making or whatever, but I'm n00b at programming ^^
Anyway I hope that mC project won't die anytime soon, because I would love to see a mC that's bugfree and has lots of gr8 features. But if the developement will die, then it would be nice to know that mC users could export their mC databases and import to another 'mC like' audioplayer (coz' I have lots'n'lots of listening statisics and other stuff), maybe into Amarok or something... err... can a mC user do this now? : P

If the player u wan't to use has a SQL Db then u could import the data using correct masks or an import plugin from the new player u choose

Could v1.1 have an easy way of translating to my mother language?

No. That would need bigger changes in the code. But translating mC via ResHacker does not seem so hard...

It would be nice if someone could create a mini tuturial how to translate mC... Or is there one and I didnt find it?

A small page in our Wiki: http://www.musikcube.com/wiki/Translation.
And some forum discussions, e.g. http://www.musikcube.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?id=92.

I just want to inform you that I am still updating my list.
It's not the official bug/feature list but the most comprehensive (and only) one on musikcube.com.
And now, let's wait if there will be some development progess...
Offline
Thanks for your update Doc - it's always good to hear from you ![]()
As regards *some development progess...*, I fear that we will not see any more progress for mC ![]()
I've not noticed anybody saying they've nearly finished so and so....well isn't that the favourite phrase of coders; *nearly finished* LOL ![]()
I am very doubtful that we will ever see any upgrade or improvement on what we have now. It's the 80 20 rule. mC works ok as it is. Nobody has the motivation to enhance it further. And with other products offering a greater range of features, the gap between mC and other players is forever widening and that means it is harder for mC to catch up.
On the other hand I would love to be proved wrong ![]()

It would be quite enough for the moment if a bugfix release 1.01 or such will come, because 1.0 final introtruced some (nasty) bugs prevous version did not have - and that is quite bad for mC:
A new user discovers mC. "Oh, nice and slick. Oh, but it mess up my tags!" ...

When you plane public new bug-fix version?
